Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains what happens when you use Free Text Symbols atfreetextsymbols.com. The site is a static tool: you browse symbols, copy them, and paste them into other apps. We do not require a login, and we do not sell personal information.

If you only browse and copy symbols, we do not ask for your name, email, or other contact details. Anything you type into the search box or symbol pad stays in your browser session unless you choose to email us.

Information we collect

We do not operate user accounts, mailing lists, or a server-side database of your activity. We do not run advertising pixels or third-party analytics on this site.

The following may still occur as part of delivering the pages:

• Hosting logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamp. Those logs are used for security, uptime, and abuse prevention — not for building marketing profiles.
• Messages you send us. If you email hello@freetextsymbols.com or use the contact form, we receive whatever you include (typically your name, email address, and message) so we can reply.

We do not use that contact mail to add you to a newsletter unless you clearly ask us to.

Local storage

The tool stores a few preferences in your browser’s localStorage so the site remembers them on your next visit. This data never leaves your device through our code:

• fts_theme — light or dark appearance
• fts_favorites — symbols you star
• fts_recents — recently copied symbols
• fts_pad_mode — whether the scratchpad appends on click
• fts_glyph_size — grid glyph size

You can clear this data at any time with your browser’s site-data or storage settings. We do not set tracking cookies, and we do not use local storage as an advertising identifier.

Clipboard

Copying a symbol uses the browser Clipboard API so the character can be pasted into a bio, chat, or document. Clipboard access happens on your device. We do not upload clipboard contents to our servers.

Third parties

Pages load the Geist typeface from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Google may receive your IP address and browser information as part of serving those files. SeeGoogle’s privacy policyfor how Google handles that data.

Unicode characters in the catalog are public-standard glyphs. Copying them does not send data to a symbol vendor.

Children

The site is a general-purpose character library and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, emailhello@freetextsymbols.com and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy when the site changes — for example if we add analytics, a backend, or a new third-party service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
